Two seminars on Organic Farming with Ernst Frischknecht were held in October 2010 and January 2011

Ernst Frischknecht held two very useful seminars on the topic of Organic Farming for farmers in the area of Orosei.

SDG has organized these seminars in collaboration with the local consortium Laore.

The following issues were discussed:

  • Daily use of EM (effective microorganisms) in cultivation;
  • Soil fertility;
  • Plant resistance to diseases and pests;
  • composting;
  • mulching;
  • The use of hired aids to minimize the work;

Who is Ernst Frischknecht?

Ernst Frischknecht is a pioneer in organic crop production. From 1993 to 2001 he was president of BIOSUISSE and contributed for many years to start and carry on agricultural development projects in various countries. Moreover, he was a long time member of Jahren Mitglied and the Group of Experts del Forschungsanstalt ART Reckenholz in Zurich. Still, at the age of 70 years, Ernst is committed to supporting various projects in Sudan (Africa) and happily shares his vast knowledge to teach more and more farmers to work their land without chemicals.

Our garden with orchard and vineyard, is cultivated completely with organic methods.
