Back in the eighties, a pair of Swiss missionaries, Rösli and Alfred Winkler, settled on the island and spent hours in prayer on what would later become the “Prayer Mountain”. The mountain is here in Orosei, five minutes from the beautiful beaches of the gulf with the same name. Even still, in this mountain, groups of believers from the village or from afar, alternate almost every night in prayers of intercession for Sardinia, Italy, Europe and the whole world. In particular, the Lord has placed in our hearts a great burden for the people of Israel, the history of which we believe to be particularly linked to that of the Sardinian people (some historians say that almost every Sardinian would have Jewish blood). We strongly believe in the importance of strategic prayer based on the Word. In this regard, the Lord led us to organize in 2003 a “circumnavigation of prayer” for Sardinia, praying for the island and reconsecrating it the Lord.

Our prayer is that the prayer mountain will become more and more a place where people will be touched by the presence of God.

We believe in the importance of constant prayer and we want to cover more hours by means of believers who are willing to devote their time to pray.

In other words, the Mount of prayer is open to all those who love Jesus and want to see His Kingdom come in Sardinia, Italy, in the world.

Our goal is to cover more hours by means of believers who are willing to devote their time to pray.

In the last years the Lord has given us often this scripture form Isaiah 55:

Invitation to the Thirsty

“Come, everyone who thirsts,

come to the waters;

and he who has no money,

come, buy and eat!

Come, buy wine and milk

without money and without price.

Why do you spend your money for that which is not bread,

and your labor for that which does not satisfy?

Listen diligently to me, and eat what is good,

and delight yourselves in rich food.

Incline your ear, and come to me;

hear, that your soul may live;

and I will make with you an everlasting covenant,

my steadfast, sure love for David.

Rösli, Irene and Alfred Winkler (2003) – this first generation is already with the Lord.

The prayer pavilion has been reconstructed by a team from Germany in October 2010. It is bigger than the old one. An excellent place to worship and pray, with an extraordinary view on the mountains, the sea and the village of Orosei. There is a beautiful old olive-trees surrounding.

The heaven is more and more open.
